Javier @ The Old Rock House

IMG_2500

Another great show at The Old Rock House! The lighting seemed much more harsh and red this time. It was difficult to get any decent skin tones. On the other hand, it does lend to the Rock n' Roll feel of the images. I am really beginning to realize how much my wide angle 18-55 kit lens is holding me back. It's got three strikes against it, too soft, not wide enough, and way too slow......

I met an interesting guy at the show named Salvidor who I let try out my Canon 50mm f/1.4. He was shooting with a Rebel XT and a longish f/4 lens, so the 50 was quite a step in the low light. It turns out that he is a pro portrait photographer in his day job. At work he uses their equipment but the XT is his personal camera. He seemed like a great guy and gave me his card. Unfortunately it was a company card and didn't have his email address on it.........

I am sure I will see him at another show.
