Yes, you read it correctly....I used the flash.....
It was just too dark to get a good exposure. I couldn't even use my home-made reflector to bounce it off the ceiling because it was too high and painted black.
I used our friend the GIMP to bring down the highlights a bit giving it a bit more depth. All in all I am happy with it.
