Warmth?

Here is my first attempt at my first concept for the SAG "Warmth" assignment. It looks much better in a larger size but keep in mind this is a rough first try. I need to find a way to defuse the light more to eliminate the bright stripe on the left side of the cup. I also need to increase my depth of field and find a way to increase the amount of steam. The DOF is no problem.... Anyone know how I can make more steam?

My original idea was to use a big mug and have someone holding it. I may still try it, but I wanted to see how easy it is to capture the steam. I also have an candle based concept that I am going to try.

I will post again when I have more.

I LOVE DOING THIS STUFF!!!

to increase the steam , decrease the temperature around the cup.

I actually though about that but the only way I could think of to do it was to set up outside.... I guess if it comes down to it, and I can't find another way, I will just have to suffer for my art.

Since you are only getting the top of the cup. you could also try ice below the cup
