Portrait Practice

Not much time tonight before I lost light but I did manage to get a few shots.


Some things I will try next time are:

  • Raise her seat higher so the deck rail is not in the frame and eliminate the shadows on her left cheek.
  • Change her orientation to simulate short lighting on her right side.
  • Use the reflector to make a catch light at the 2:00 position.
  • Lower her chin a bit.
  • Use an aperture of 5.6 for more DOF

I totally disagree. This is a great shot. Some of your best shots are those that capture the "true Person", not the image.
